HIRO TAKAHASHI

A human soul locked into a cyborg mining-body for highpowered dangerous excavation, Hiro, like Elizabeth, is very powerful. His strengths are his great hearing and extreme speed. He is violent and menacing, and at first Willis views Hiro as a flat-out terrorist and a direct threat to the lives of his children and himself. Gradually, this morphs, as the Beekers learn about Hiro/Liz’s race’s persecution as slaves by the family’s own empire. Hiro’s soft spot and protectiveness towards Liz becomes more apparent. Willis discovers Hiro’s skill-sets can be useful in saving the Beeker family if his impulsiveness can be channeled productively. Hiro initially views Willis and his family as symbols of the repressive regime as Hiro is violently seeking freedom for his and Elizabeth’s people.

 

Hiro thinks Ashley is attractive, but feels Becca is just a kid who doesn’t understand why he needs to save his own skin.
