Salvatore Di Marco

Salvatore Di Marco, born in Palermo, attended the "Graphic Operator of ANIMATION Cinema" course. This course introduced him to his future colleagues and partners of Grafimated Cartoon, a film and comics production company, which he helped create in 2001.

He has also worked as an animator, cartoonist, illustrator and colorist for production companies such as Lanterna Magica, Medusa, Rai, Kinder, etc... and some of the main Italian, French, American and Spanish publishers, such as Disney, Castermann, Cromosoma, Marathon, IDW, Mondadori, De Agostini etc.

With his colleagues at Grafimated he also contributed to the creation of his own productions such as “Peo”, “Avventura sulla terra”, and “Peo le energie Alternative”, of which he was co-director together with Antonino Pirrotta. He has also participated in the creation of short films such as “I Vespri Siciliani” and “Rosalia, Santa Fanciulla”, created with colleagues at Grafimated.

From 2012 to 2014,Di Marco was the official designer of the PLANES comic for the DISNEY publishing house, also collaborating on the inks of comics such as Tinkerbell, Hero's Duty, Cars Activity, and Disney Princesses. He works for Marvel as well, collaborating on some books with Captain Marvel, Avengers and Ultron.

During this period, he also acted as color supervisor for various serial productions such as Skylanders, Shrek for IDW and Ken Parker, and for Mondadori, Nightmare Before Christmas. He is currently Director of the Palermo Comics School, which he manages with colleagues Antonino Pirrotta, Alessandra Ragusa and Giampiero Randazzo.
